自從歐盟法院為歐洲公民爭取「被遺忘權」（right to be
forgotten），用戶可向 Google 申請，隱藏搜尋結果中的不當內容。目前 Google 只能就歐洲用戶的申請，隱藏當地 Google 搜尋引擎的搜尋連結；不過《金融時報》的報導指出，未來將隱藏範圍擴大至全球 Google 搜尋引擎，但僅限制搜尋者位在歐洲地區。
